Root Empathy

A very important conversation with a tree in Ontario, Canada. 

Hello Tree,

I’m happy to meet you.

Thank you for watching over me, thank you for supporting the Earth beneath my feet.

Can you send a message to my Tree back home? That I miss it’s soil.
Can you do that?
Can all Trees do that?

I wonder how it feels to be so still and tall. How does change feel as a deeply rooted being?

How old are you?
Are you happy?
Do you feel free?

Can you reach up to Heaven a bit more for me today?
Does the Sun feel like Love?
What does the wind tell you?

Do you have hardship?
Do you feel pain?
Do all the other trees feel it with you?
Is it all really connected?

Do you feel all of the other trees too?
Do you feel all of humanity on the surface?
Do you feel war? Peace?

Can you remind the birds to sing in the East?
Can you thank the Khajoor Trees back home?
Tell them I miss their shade.

Tell them I see them everywhere, I see them in you!
